Growing in Love for the Eucharist – Matt Gerald
Matt Gerald had strong Methodist Protestant roots, and when he married a Catholic, he hoped his wife would eventually join him in his denomination. A decade later, when it was clear she was remaining Catholic, and their son was preparing for First Communion, Matt decided to become Catholic, mostly for the sake of family unity.
In those early days, Matt didn’t really understand the Eucharist, or have any particularly clear feelings about what was going on at Mass.
But a few years later, he went through something of a personal “Eucharistic Revival,” and he shares how Holy Communion has become for him the source and focal point of his Christian life and his relationship with Jesus.
