Generally speaking, podcasts don’t usually lend themselves to full-motion live performances because of two, and only two, reasons: (1) The whole mechanism of “downloading at will” speaks to a general “I’ll get around to it when I feel like it” mindset of the podcast audience, presumably making it difficult to get a bunch of them in a room together; (2) they all look like this.

(Before all of you podcasters get your audio wires in a bundle, note that we’ve been looking for an excuse to link to that photo since the website started. We’re sure you’re all decently sexy or, at the very least, doable. Also of note, we can personally attest to the validity of the first reason. We’ve been letting the archive of Jordan, Jesse GO! podcast build for awhile to satiate our obsessive-like listening technique and just got around to starting our marathon of aural bliss yesterday.)

The fellas at Guys With Feelings have no such worries about live performances however, brazenly taking their podcast to the streets whenever they fucking feel like it, even recording visual evidence of their general cocksmanitude, evidenced below. For your record keeping, the dual videos below were taken from their live show at the Comedy Central stage on Feb. 7th.

Show starts at 11:35pm for Americans on the left and right coasts. All others can use their valuable math skills to calculate when the show will air.

Paul F. Tompkins, a man who never throws around his celebrity endorsement lightly, has taken it upon himself to send all of his MySpace friends an extremely important message regarding the possible cancellation of one of the best Podcasts around. That is, unless you Netjerks out there get off of your lazy, non-podcast-subscribing asses and get to work!

(While PFT chooses to reason with the masses — as seen below — we here at The Coming go with the “tough love / beat them into submission” approach. It’s probably because we’ve been watching a whole lot of The Wire recently.)

Hey, everyone, this is something I’ve never done before, but something I think is extraordinary is in danger of being snuffed out of existence.

“The Best Show on WFMU” is an hilarious radio show from New Jersey that features host Tom Scharpling taking calls both real and made up and being equally hilarious at both.

The show is available to the public in a few different formats , but only one lets you carry it all over the damn place: the podcast. Unfortunately, not that many people subscribe to it, so the producers of the show feel it may not be worth their while to continue making the podcast available.

So I’m urging everyone to check it out. Here’s where you can find it:

- Internet comedy video conglomerate Super Deluxe announces their plan of releasing a short video from every comedian that has ever lived, “from Irithius of Fire-Hole to Danny Glover XIV”.

The show will feature three-minute mini-shows that users will get to vote on — only the best return each week. In addition, viewers can even make their own shows for the site, with one pilot a week chosen for broadcast.

As the promos explain, “Acceptable.TV” will combine the best qualities of the Internet and television, adding a level of interactivity that television shows are lacking. Black says, “What if I told you there was a show coming to VH1 that you could watch, control or create?”

To see the sample clips and get your voice heard by obsessive hyper-voting, head over to the Acceptable.tv website that just went online today. Among the clips there is the below video with The Kirkman(!) struggling to choose between the warm comfort of her TV and the forbidden pleasure of the Internet.

While The Kirkman(!) is, unfortunately, not the official “star” of “Acceptable.TV” but she has gone on record on AST as to the greatness of the show:

I can vouch - this show is totally awesome and exciting especially because there are no assholes involved and the cuts I’ve seen so far, are great … it IS all the Channel 101 people who created favorites like House of Cosbys and Yacht Rock.

What better way to start the year of The Departed — more like The DeFarted! — than by showing the best part of last night’s video montage-laden Oscar broadcast. (We seriously think there was more time taken up by prepackaged montages than by actual live speeches.) If you didn’t catch it, this little musical number by Will Ferrell, Jack Black and John C. Reilly was not only clever and smartly-written, but also dared to ask one of the most controversial questions in the movie business: Who will win the Oscar for Best Achievement in Makeup!

Friday: Howie Mandel’s OCD is a little OCDer at The Westside Eclectic’s improvised parody No Deal or Deal. (8pm, $8) As we earlier noted, Wally George is one hardened conservative — he’ll steal your weed, burn your nudie magazines, and stuff your abortions right back inside your uterii. See what other sickos and liberals have dampened his mood at The Hot Seat with Wally George with Josh Fadem and Chad Fogland. (11:30pm, $5)

Saturday: Sarah Silverman stopped by the Benson Interruption Thursday to workshop some material for the Independent Spirit Awards. Most of the material went down well: the joke about “what would happen if a bomb hit?” got a huge laugh, as did her instructions about what not to do when accepting an award. The Daniel Craig joke, however — well, that needed a little work. (2pm, IFC) Beth Lapides laughs in the face of choking hazards as she welcomes Taylor Negron, Greg Behrendt and Mary Lynn Rajskub to a dinner-time performance of Un-Cabaret at the M Bar. (7pm, $15) If you’re a perverted telekinetically-enhanced person, head down to The WE and use your powers to force the Scriptease performers into rule-breaking mistakes, leaving them naked and shamed! (8pm, $10)

Sunday: Be a warrior, fight the inevitable Oscar-related traffic jams, and warm up your vocal chords for the DVD tapings by heading over to the UCB for ASSSSCAT (7pm, free!)
